What Is Single Rider at Disney World?

Short answer

Single Rider is a separate queue used to fill spare seats on select attractions.

Your group may wait in the same line but will be separated for boarding. It is for guests happy to ride individually.

How it works

Look for Single Rider signage or ask a Cast Member. Disney currently says immediate boarding and seat choice are not guaranteed, participating attractions and waits vary, and every rider must meet the normal boarding requirements. Check Disney’s current Single Rider guidance before relying on it.

What families need to know

It can help an older child or adult ride when sitting together is not important. It is not a shortcut for a young child who needs support, and it is separate from Rider Switch and Lightning Lane.

Common confusion

Rider Switch manages a non-rider who cannot wait alone. Single Rider fills spare seats and separates the people who do ride.
